Bio
My name is Ms. Kirk and I am currently the Mathematics teacher at Stadium View. I've been in the district since 2016 and have been working with youth for over fifteen years.
In 2010, I received a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Northwestern (St. Paul, MN) and upon graduation, I began my career as a Juvenile Correctional Officer (JCO) for Hennepin County. As a JCO, my passion grew to work in a more pro-active capacity, thus leading me to a career in education. In 2012, I began working as an Urban Liaison servicing students marked "high risk" for academics, behavior, and truancy. In 2016, I started working for MPS as a Special Education Due Process Specialist while attending the University of Minnesota to obtain my M. Ed in Youth Development Leadership.
In 2018, I entered a Teaching Residency through the University of St. Thomas in partnership with Minneapolis Public Schools. Through this Masters program, I received a Special Education Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) license and joined a wonderful team of teachers at Stadium View. I'm blessed to have this opportunity and I look forward to working with students at Stadium View for years to come!
In my spare time (if time ever permits), I love to write, play chess, watch movies, eat out, and travel with family.
